Too much to handle?

At the start of a calm week, I decided it was time for a mind, body, and soul check. It was time to hop back onto the saddle, into the pool, into devotional reading, study for work, and simply check myself into quiet time. Lately, my brain cells have been floating in a million pieces trying to figure out where these neurons need to huddle and take action. Perhaps you have heard the phrase “God will not give you more than you can handle?” Or maybe you have never heard of this phrase. Regardless, sometimes we feel overwhelmed, lost, confused, and the desire to give up. Twenty-seventeen is bringing on so many changes in my life that it’s pushing me between the quarter and mid-life crisis phase. No one said life is an easy journey. Christmas Joy

Life isn’t always a smooth sailing ride; in fact, the ride doesn’t come without emotional adventures. It’s been a year of highs and lows for us for sure, celebrating many things admist some bittersweet moments. We spent a short, fun weekend with my family skiing for the first time in Colorado. We also celebrated the life of my father-n-law as he went home to Jesus, the beginning of married life for 4 family members in 4 different states, the birth of my best friend’s baby, our 8 th year of marriage, and my Pee Paw’s 90 th birthday. We have had a year of much personal and external stress. The stress came in packages from working late hours and traveling at least 3 of the 4 weekends each month. Traveling came with a high percentage of cancelled and delayed flights sending us to a hotel overnight or turning our flight around because we’re running out of gas, or deboarding several times.
